CYP SIG meeting on Belmont Estate

for hosting us a Watercress Farm on the Belmont Estate

Martin guided us through the rewilding estate landscape of rewiggled river, dragonfly, red admiral, tree creeper, Tamworth pigs and Ruby Red cattle: we walked talked and explored, enjoying a rich sharing of projects and practices across North Somerset and Bristol: it was a small group with a wide range of experience in education, health and social care, academia and government: animal care, forest therapy, way of council, nature connection pathways, river guardianship, outdoor learning, nature as teacher, the power of breathing, mycelial life inside and out, supporting each other and moving mountains all featured.

Tom presented the ongoing work on a Blueprint/Charter and invited each of us to contribute to the Listening journey. This is helping to cocreate a shared voice from local practitioners and projects aiming at some clear and key policy asks: we want to promote and support children and young people find their unique way of connecting with Nature from early years through school, to training and work as future generations of ecocitizens.
